A key component of the Scientific Centre Project was the design and construction supervision of 1km of the adjacent waterfront. Designed as a publicly accessible promenade, it has become a major walking path for locals and tourists alike.

The promenade winds along the seafront, and is edged by a shaded canopy of Phoenix dactilfera. Water features, seating pavilions, and grassed picnic areas puncture the promenade to provide respite and passive recreational opportunities.

Two fishing piers, each 65m in length, project from the eastern end of the promenade. These have become a popular fishing location for the locals.

The planting palette has been carefully selected to provide a variety of colours and textures in the landscape, and provide areas of shade and lush greenery.
