Gulf Consult in association with Cambridge Seven Associates, Inc. were commissioned by Kuwait University for the Study, Design and Construction Supervision of a new faculty building: The Marine Sciences Centre.
This Marine Sciences Centre building has been designed to cater for over 300 students. The Centre specialises in the marine life of the Gulf, and therefore contains all the facilities needed for the teaching and research of the subject including its own protected marina for berthing of its own research vessels.
Although the building is part of Kuwait University, it is situated in Fintas, 40km away from the main university campus at Khalidiya.The building consists of four floors and is divided into two wings, linked together by a central lobby area.
One of the wings incorporates classrooms and laboratories; the other wing is mainly for administrative purposes.
