Gulf Consult in association with Cambridge Seven Associates, Inc., USA and Cloward H2O, USA, have been commissioned to undertake the Study, Design and Tender Documents for the expansion of The Scientific Center of Kuwait (TSCK).

The Scientific Center is located on the Gulf at Ras Salmiya and houses a sea-water aquarium, interactive exhibits, Imax Theatre, and Dhow Harbour set within extensive landscaped surrounds. This expansion is to be located to the immediate west of the existing facilities along the waterfront. It involves substantial marine works and is to include the following facilities:

  • Dolphinarium (Al Dalaphene)
  • Exploratorium (Dar Al-Estikshaf)
  • Education and Conference Center
  • Visitor Service Facilities
  • Exhibit Halls
  • Shaded Surface Parking

TSCK’s existing premises and proposed expansion are to be connected and fully integrated. As such, the expansion program represents a major enrichment of TSCK to help position it as a unique, distinctive and world-class institution dedicated to environmental education in the Gulf region and internationally.

The entire facility will meet best practices of sustainable architecture and the objective is to obtain LEED Gold Certification.
