Located in close proximity to the container terminal at Shuwaikh Port, the project Design concept epitomizes small jewel glass boxes embodying fashion boutiques, within a large glass jewel box exemplifying the complex. It challenged the prevailing concept of retail design in Kuwait at the turn of the century. The architectural concept was by Pierfrancesco Cravel of Italy. Gulf Consult undertook full architectural and engineering design, project management and construction supervision.

The design gives tribute to early modern architecture. Through purity of form and mass, it celebrates an age of simplicity by its honest expression of structure and materials. The building features two massive walls cladded in green Indian marble at its entrance and is surrounded by two layers of randomly organized, slender, free standing pillars which light up at night. The Complex features glass cubicle boutiques ranging from 100-170 m2 in area that are operated by ten of the world’s finest and exclusive fashion houses. A branded specialty restaurant directly operated by the client, two multi-brand stores for men and women, art gallery, multipurpose hall and administrative offices are also present within the complex. Interior design of the multi-brand zone and the restaurant was done by Eldridge Smerin of United Kingdom.

The project was completed in a record time of 14 months, starting from conceptual discussions to completion of construction and its inauguration.
