With the objective to improve the quality of life for road users, and in particular road safety, the Ministry of Equipment, Housing and Infrastructure (Tunisia), commissioned Gulf Consult to execute the development works of the X20 Bypass.

Upon completion, the X20 bypass would provide a direct route between the Bizerte motorway and the Western motorway between the governorates of Ariana, Mannouba and Tunis, opening up the new urban centers of Greater Tunis (Cités Ennasr, El Menzeh, etc.)
The project constitutes the construction and implementation of:
- 15 km urban expressway; 2 x 2 lanes expandable into 2 x 3 lanes
- 11 bridges
- 9 roundabouts
- 32 box culverts
- Rainwater Drainage System
- Road signage and illumination
- Landscaping
- Relocation of infrastructure distribution networks
